It helped especially with ADS aiming and some claim that it changes the movement to be more linear. Search PS3/BF3 input lag fix and a lot of interesting hits come up.

Strange that it works but it did for me.

Strange things also happening with the forum. Newer posts are located between old ones?

/20 is the native resolution of BF3 and almost all PS3 games. Am not sure that NOT learning the surface is a good thing, for me it worked well. But have to try it out further.

I could play with these settings until i die, but I want a bit more micromovement precission.

very helpful nano. what do you think of your experience with these settings? The fact that I can have a lag-free experience with the analog controllers makes me think there's no reason why we should have to take it down any further than 720 and the fact that the tracking can be perfectly smooth on other games tells me that the mousepad (though the razer may be even better) should be adequate. one other thing i'll try is starting over WITHOUT 'learning' the mousepad as the feedback seems that this makes it worse.

I have to say, I am stuck using 1.3 as 1.5, 1.6 and the new 0.1 all cause the controller to do its own thing.

It automtaically stands my player up and changes the weapon! Not very handy!

However, I bought a razer vespula and even with 1.3, for me, it makes a noticeable and massive difference. But I am using 1.3?

hey ajsdisc!
I changed my firmware today from 0,2 to 0,3 and i´m using the factory bf3 v1,6. I only pulled the x mousespeed up from 1,2 to 1,4 and the y from 1,6 to 1,8. And it´s never been smoother! I currently use the aimon mousepad.
I find it hard to chare settings because we all have so different gaming styles. I like short and fast movement whit the mouse but i still need the smoothness. So personaly i don´t change the preeset deadzone only mouse speed.I tryed God joeys verry high settings and found them almost unplayable. But if u giv it time, u will soon master it.But personally it´s to fast for me and get´s to jumpy therefore. About your issue i would just try and reload everything with only small to no changes.I even skipped the mousesurface learning. I hop u get the shit together. The only issue i ever had was the disconecting that was solved thanks to the usb extension cable. And the 1,4 buggie firmware. So i guess i´m lucky.

As stated earlier BF3 has tons of input lag. I have tried everything except changing the resolution only to 720p. SD resolution got rid of the lag also but i didnt like playing with those settings as seeing people in distance with 720p is difficult enough. This with the mouse to slow have given me my joy to play back again.

Look at my earlier posts what else to look for for a lagless game. Have to try the 0.4 as have been playing with 0.3 and MAG1.6

pc is completely Lag-Less and i am completely envious of my brother who started BF3 after me on his pc while i am rattling through on the ps3.

Maps are larger on pc, gameplay is sharper, graphics are crisper and more impressive (graphics card dependant) you can see further into the distance and recognise if its the enemy or debry unlike on the ps3 where to get smooth gameplay you have to drop the resolution making it harder to differenciate or learn to be a fortune teller and gain a 6th sence in where your controler will take you with and compensate for the input lag.

I still love BF3 despite this!

I have not had time to get the new PC run up and BF3 loaded on it yet. I only got home last night (I work offshore).

So just had a game on PS3. I get fed up of the laggy input etc.. I am sure some of the opposition do not have the lag issues and have better resolution.

I can't wait to give it a run on PC

Love iit too! Especially after finding the Elite as I have played years and years on the pc but got fed up with updating the rig every second year and wanted the mouse feel also to console gaming.

Btw: tried Killzone 3 yesterday and those controls were the worst. Even BF3 feeled super after that one.

Now I know why I couldn't get consistent results even when switching the resolution only to 720p. After I updated Karkand I noticed the aiming is a little off so tried default BF3 maps and the lag was gone and aiming was smooth.

BF3 and weird things going on.

Ingame max, sound to stereo PCM/44 only, mouse speed to SLOW, 720p ONLY!
TV Game/PC, AV to not do anything to HDMI input.

Firmware 0.4
MAG V1.6-V0.x
X 1.2
Y 1.6
ADS 1.4
DZ x52 y56

I was a little surprised myself of these settings as I change my settings in game on mouse. I still find it confusing to find if the circular is on or not. When I change the mode then the mouse becomes superslow until I do the mat setup. Always blinks twice even if I take the mouse off of the surface.

Oh yeah when setting up and testing, play the default maps or single player only as I couldn't get rid of the lag even when doing all the tricks I know of in Back to Karkand maps. This sucks hairy...

In the older firmware i had my settings to:
X 2.0
Y 2.4
ADS 1.0
DZ X50 Y54

I am a little over testing the shitz out of this as I am quite happy with the results (always room to improve to PC-like movement ).
