I recently purchased an xscorch controller for my xbox 360, but cann't get it to work.
It wasn't explained clearly that I needed a wired xbox 360 controller for it to work, so I have been and purchased on of these too. It's an offical microsoft xbox360 wired controller.

Unfortunately the xscorch still will not work. I can't get the controller to turn on when it's connected through the xscorch dongle. On the controller, lights 1 and 4 flash for a second then go off. Nothing else happens regardless of what I do.

I have tried researching on the bannco.com website - but seems the bannco no longer own that domain.

I've also tried connecting it to my PC, the same thing happens in regard to lights 1 & 4. windows doesn't try to install drivers or anything (did when I connected the controller on its own)

I've downloaded the firmware and firmware update tool - this seems no to detect the device, nor does the config tool.

when the dongle is connected to the Xbox or PC, the green LED is on permanently. I've tried pressing the sync button - nothing changes. also tried inserting dongle while pressing sync button.

Any ideas?

Where did you purchase your scorch from it has been out of production for over a year and may be a faulty unit. Plugging your usb dongle directly into your pc without holding the sync button has no response? Are your lights on the mouse and wand solid or blinking?

Thanks for the reply.

I bought it from Ebay (new).
yes, if I plug it into USB port on my computer (with or without holding sync button) nothing happens. windows doesn't seem to detect it. The light on the dongle comes on, showing it has power, but nothing else happens.

with the dongle connected to either the laptop or the Xbox it's the same. When I turn the mouse and wand they blink slowly. If I press the sync button on the mouse it goes solid for a second, then blinks fast for a few seconds then blinks slowly again. If I do this at the same time as pressing the dongle sync button nothing changes. the light on the dongle remains solid.

Have also tried with the wand but the same issue occurs.

I have tested a friends Xbox controller also - this is a non official controller. exactly the same problem with that too.

Is there anything I can try, or should I attempt to return the xscorch as faulty?

I would just like to show my gratitude for the help and support received from both this forum and the このメールアドレスはスパムボットから保護されています。閲覧するにはJavaScriptを有効にする必要があります。 team.

through persistent communication with the support team, I have been able to resolve the problem with my Xscorch. A device which I'm informed is over a year out of warranty!

I've advised below how it was resolved in case anyone else come across such an issue.

Firstly, the problem: (possibly bricked firmware)

Xscorch dongle has a permanent green light, the mouse & wand will not connect to it. The dongle is not detected by PC when connected to the USB port. The Xbox controller will not switch on when connected through the Xscorch to the Xbox.

Although I bough my Xscorch on Ebay as a 'New' item, I now believe it may have been a customer returned item, whereby the firmware had been bricked.

Resolution to my problem was achieved by following the outlined process below:

Connect the dongle to PC with the dongle button pressed and keep the button pressed for 4 seconds once it is connected to USB. This I am informed resets the device to factory defaults.
remove the dongle from the USB port and reconnect it.
Windows should now detect the device and install drivers for it.

Once the drivers are installed, remove the dongle and reconnect again, this time holding the dongle button while connecting (release the button once inserted)

Now flash the dongle with the firmware you would like to use (in my case COD)

Remove the dongle again and reinsert it (don't press the dongle button). You should no be able to power on your mouse and wand. Hopefully they will now connect to the dongle and work as designed.

Hope this information is useful to someone as it has been to me!

Happy fraging.
