I first went to mechanical because of the limitations the membrane keyboards which had 2 nkro, meaning if more than 2 keys are pressed nothing else will register. Mechanicals can go 26 nkro, Filco ninja and leopold both perform really great, cmstorm on the cheap not bad either for pc. You really do get what you pay for, my cmstorm is good but doesn't feel like the quality of my filco or leopold plus paint all wearing off revealing a clear plastic mold.

The Switch types.

Romer-G 45 gram 1.5mm actuation lowest of any switch. 70 million click omron switches. $180 keyboard.
No first hand experience but hear it's like dampened browns maybe a tactile bump, will have to try this and post.

Topre electrostatic capacitive switch 30-45 grams actuation hybrid plunger and mechanical spring, touted as the best keyboards on the planet for typing. Don't know about gaming, "realforce" and "Happy Hacking Professional 2 (HHKB2)"

Reds and Blacks are linear they have no click and feels the same through the whole press like typing on air. 45 gram actuation.

Blacks no sound like red it's linear, did the nickel test 12 nickels to bottom out the switch. Was great but it caused fatigue so I sent mine back and used reds for years. 60 grams to actuate.

Blues tactile clicky sound easy to press. 50 grams to actuate.

Browns bump feel no click also easy to press. 45 grams to actuate.

Clears Firm tactile feel. 55-95 grams to actuate.

Comparison of switch mounting, steel plate vs pcb

Plate mounted keyboards are more rigid and sturdy than PCB-mounted keyboards, also heavier.
Key press feel on Steel plate is firm with no flex, giving a perfectly sharp landing compared to flex of the PCB mounted switches which dampen the clack noise when bottoming out.
The steel plate increases the bottom out noise on mx boards but reduced on topre switch boards due to rubber dome. Can fix with o ring dampeners.

Filco are mounted to steel, my cmstorm has a red painted steel plate. You will know the difference in sheer weight. Like membrane kb have a bend to it when typing they feel flimsy. Ducky I heard also use pcb so that steered me from testing theirs.

Wow looks like rosewill stepped up their quality, decent 5 stars for reds www.amazon.com/Rosewill-Mechanical-Keybo...TF8&showViewpoints=1

Mx cherry blacks typing test

If you need some noise dampeners these work good.

If only they made a version with an analog thumbstick :( I like the idea of these keyboards :) bit dear but pc shops charge mega money
for cheap junk like the g13 so i suppose its only a bit dearer then that :)
